Onboard the Extra 86
At 26 metres, Extra 86 reads wider than her length suggests. The aft deck extends through a set of fold-out terraces that push the usable space out over the water, turning what would be a fixed cockpit into an open-air room. Built by ISA/Extra with a cruising speed of around 22 knots, she covers coastal ground quickly without the deck feeling rushed once you're anchored.
The layout suits a run south to Sitges as easily as a slower day on the Maresme coast: the al fresco dining table sits under cover but open on three sides, so lunch stays outdoors even when the breeze picks up in the afternoon. The swim platform sits low and close to the water, useful for guests moving in and out for a swim rather than climbing down a ladder.
Four cabins keep the guest count at 12, which makes Extra 86 a practical choice for two families sharing a boat rather than a single large party. Leaving from Port Olímpic, the crew takes the harbour exit through Barcelona's commercial traffic before opening the throttle, and the same yacht handles both a single Sitges day and a longer run toward the Balearics if provisioning is arranged in advance.
